Robert Kohler



Robert is a respected Silicon Valley entrepreneur, advisor, lawyer, and angel investor, who has founded, built, and sold several successful technology companies.


Robert’s law firm, Kohler Law (, acts as general counsel for venture-backed startups and offers cost-effective, high-quality legal and deal-making services. Kohler Law advises dozens of leading Silicon Valley technology companies, including Facebook, Marketo, Splunk, and Adobe, amongst others.


Robert founded SiteMail, one of the first providers of web-based email services, and sold it to XOOM, then stayed on to help management take the company public, do a secondary offering, and ultimately sell to NBC. Robert later co-founded Castfire, a video publishing platform for clients such as Google/Next New Networks, CBS Interactive, ESPN/Disney, Comcast, CNET, and PBS and NPR stations. Robert sold Castfire to Wide Orbit.


Robert is also an adviser for an AI/visual search company (, a privacy platform ( and a nano tech company (dPore).
